A great blurb is useless, If no one sees your book.

A book cover shouts. It doesn’t tell. It’s the sign on the door, the invitation, Inviting you in to explore, communicating tone, genre, subject, quality, and so much more, with a single image in a few short words.

I'm a multidisciplinary writer, artist, illustrator, and designer, with a passion for book cover design. I've spent the last four decades building a creative toolset in nearly every medium and style imaginable. Now I'm putting all those years of creative growth into this highly focused service.

Cover design is a diverse and immensely creative discipline, because every book needs just the right cover in order to stand out, and just the right designer to understand what those specific needs are. My vast writing and artistic experience make me uniquely positioned to build you that perfect cover aesthetic.

Design service includes three phases

- Creative consultation 

It's important in the beginning stages for us to understand one another's needs. I want to know all about you and your book And you'll also want to know about me, your potential cover designer, and confirm that our creative visions are in alignment. Here we'll discuss color palettes, personal preferences, potential motifs, styles, tastes, etc. I want you to be absolutely sure we're right for one another. If either of us isn't completely comfortable working together I'll immediately refund your deposit - art can be very personal and subjective, so no hard feelings.

- Rough Drafts

Before we get to the fun stuff, it's important to discover what is not working, and to discuss how we can improve upon it. Remember, I'm here to help you solve your problem. The drafting phase should only take a handful of tries to get right, assuming we've done the work in the first phase of consultation. Here I'll present you with my interpretation of your vision, usually in the form of loosely developed motifs and a variety of color choices all at once. However, anything beyond three attempts will incur further fees as I'll discuss below. And any work done during this drafting phase will forfeit your $100 deposit.

- The Cover

Here we'll work out the final cover design. Similar to the last phase, I'll present you with up to two finished covers, and additional attempts will incur additional fees. But If we've made it this far, I'm certain this won't be a problem.

Each finalized pattern will include a vector file, working files, and any other files needed upon request (jpeg, png, pdf, etc.) Your deposit will be deducted from the final fee upon completion.

Although no projects are alike, most cover designs can usually be completed inside of a two week window. Slow communication and/or additional draft requests can add several additional weeks to the process.

Fees include

$50 initial deposit (forfeited after project has begun) 

$300 per cover (front only)

$450 full front, back, and spine design

$100 for each additional rough or final draft past 2

Prefered genres include but are in no way limited to: Science fiction, Mystery, Cozy Mystery, YA, Horror, Humor
